Birthday staycation

Llyod's Inn

On the night of my birthday, Junwei surprised me with a 'access ticket' to a stay cation at Llyod's Inn. Have been hearing about the rave of this place and I can't wait to have a small escape from reality!

Located near Somerset MRT, Llyod's Inn totally makes you forget that you are in the heart of town! Ambience here is definitely five stars. The room type Junwei booked was The Reading:) Queen size bed on raised platform, minimalistic finish. Free wifi access.

DISCLAIMER:

Despite the super awesome daylight filled photos on the net, the room was actually VERY dark. One of the more disappointing aspect of the staycation. So these photos are actually heavily edited to increase exposure!

The shower was open concept, meaning that you could hear the forest sounds while bathing.

Pillow fight... we messed up the bed within an hour of reaching!!

Backtrack to how the hotel surroundings, the main entrance was hard to locate but of course, it adds to the elusiveness of this place! Walking in, you can immediately see the pool one level down.

Then, you will be brought directly to the spacious lobby. And to your rooms.

Went out to take some photos too! Cant waste the chance of taking photos with the pretty yellow balloons! And also chance to have nice ig photos right?? HAHA..

If you are concerned about food, to my knowledge, Llyod's Inn does not have an in-house kitchen. Hence, you'll have to walk out to the row of shophouses (less than 5 mins) that offer a variety of food choices. That was how we found out about a hidden Thai restaurant which was a like a hidden treasure! So darn good food and atmosphere and reasonably priced too!!

Also, Llyod's Inn provide vouchers for complementary breakfast at an outlet along the street. Choice of Kaya butter toast or French toast, half boiled eggs and drinks.

Till 10am, which of course, we missed..

Later in the evening, we headed down to (the new UNESCO site lol) Botanic Gardens for Straits Times 170th Anniversary performance by Singapore Symphony Orchestra. So many other picnickers enjoying Saturday evening with SSO too:)

I'm so proud of how well prepared we are! Picnic mat, sushi, drinks, chips.

And that's the end of my wonderful weekend!
