Jeju Day 1: In Touch with Nature

Super delayed Jeju post is finally up! It was almost two weeks ago since I came back from Jeju and was too busy to find time to sit down proper to blog:( So now that I have nothing to do on the bus to Boesong here it is!

This trip was the first time that I actually took the plane alone! It might be nothing for frequent travellers but definitely an #achievementunlocked moment for me!

Parents and sis came to the airport to fetch me! First time taking the car in a really long while:)
The guesthouse was quite out of the way but the interior is really fantastic! Private kitchen and living room:) Its operated by a Caucasian family, so I did not have to use Korean at all! Yippee..

The lounge that looks super cosy!

So day one started with a blast as I explored the rooftop to be rewarded by a magnificent view of the tangerine plantations and the sea as the backdrop!
Our first stop was Seongsan IIchulbonh Peak! It is a lava crater that is active only once in millions of years:)

So many beautiful horses in sight, making the scenery look like a painting:)

With the sis!

The scenery up there was really beautiful! Worth the climb up!! Though we paused so many times to take photos because we were too tired! Nevertheless, it has been really long since I was this close to nature. In contrast with the concrete jungles of Seoul that I face everyday, this was definitely a pleasant change! The weather, too, was perfect:)

One bad thing though is that my hair can't be tamed in this wild wind!!

No filter needed in any of my photos because it's simply so beautiful!

Stopped by the road to take photos with the sea!

After lunch we headed to Manggul Lava Tube! It is not really a cave but some sort of a hole created from the flow of lava many many years ago:) It was fascinating walking the 2km in, stepping on hardened lava knowing how it was like previously!

Before the sunset for the day, we visited Haenyeo Museum:) It was very empty and quite because it was almost closing time.

It is about 'sea women' who made a living from diving for seafood. Interesting artefacts but sadly did not witness one in action through this trip!

Ootd with the pretty flowers outside!:P

Dinner!! Of course we had to try the famous Black Pork at least once! Went to this place recommended by my dad's colleague, patronised mostly by locals! Put my Korean skills to the test when I had to listen to his recommendations and order for my family! It was so good we had to order a second serving!
