Bidding Day!

Early this morning, we had to camp in front of our computers to register for our modules. Compared to NUS CORS, this was way tougher. KU uses the first-come-first-serve method which is based largely on surrounding factors such as speed of computer and some luck will be good.

When the clock strikes 9:00am (Seoul time 10:00am), adrenaline was at its maximum! I was so afraid that I couldn't log in! Feeling totally like a freshie all over again.

KU's system is really a game of fastest fingers first. I managed to get all my psychology major modules but failed in getting the kpop module, Mass Media and Popular Culture in Korea. To give you an idea how quick the whole thing was, logging in at 9:00am sharp, I was done by 9:06am, whereby all modules are more or less filled up. Wonder what happen to those chillax students...

For now, I am placed on the waiting list, which is also first come first served. Hopefully people will still 'Drop' it for god-knows-what-reasons. If not, results will be out on 17th Aug and I will have to bid again on the 19th Aug, which I will be in Busan. SIGH. Besides, I can't use my own laptop because KU's portal is super not Mac-friendly….

In any case, there's an override permission slip for international students that we can use to get modules despite it being full, but I'm not sure if it applies to electives as well.
Override Permission Slip

Arghh… if only I got all my modules! Save me from going through this stress again!

  1. Hello! May I ask a question? Which of the following (Google Chrome, Safari or IE) did you use for your course registration since I am using a Mac too. Thank you!
