Taipei Solo Trip: DAY 3

Day 3: 

1. Jiufen/ Shifen

Directions

At Taipei Station (台北火車站), railway to Rui Fang (瑞芳). The journey is about 20 mins.

A return ticket to Ruifang cost NT $120 (SGD $5.30) including the seat reservation. This can be purchased at Taipei Main Station upon arrival in Taipei.

After exiting the station, you may wish to check with the Tourist Centre directly outside for the exact directions or follow this: facing the Wellcome supermarket, take a left and walk 200 metres down Mingdeng Road. Next to the police station is a bus station (named Local Residents Plaza, 區民廣場) with routes 827 and 788 heading toward Jiufen. 15 minutes, fare NT$15

As there are many tourists in the vicinity, it should not be an issue. If travelling in a group of 4, you may wish to opt for the taxi instead as the price per pax is about the same.

If you are heading to Shifen on the same day, at Ruifang station, purchase one-day ticket for Pingxi Railway (Shifen, Jingtong, Pingxi, Hutong).

2. Jin Feng Braised Pork Rice 金峰魯肉飯
Location: Take the MRT to Chiang Kai Shek station, Exit #2, and walk straight for about 50 meters and you’ll see the unique signs of the restaurants with the mountainous landscape background.
Open hours: 8 am – 1 am daily

Lu Rou fan (滷肉飯), braised pork rice bowl.
