Anyday is a good day: Namdemun Market, Cafe the Bridge, Roscoco
Solo ventures to Namdaemun!! Despite friends saying that it was a boring place, I had to visit Namdaemun because firstly it was kind of a tourist attraction and I felt that it was a place I could easily handle going alone:)
Namdaemun Market is located at Hoehyeon Station, Exit 5. Once I exited the station, I just followed the whole crowd of aunties and uncles in their 60-80s to where they were headed to!
Spotted the Southern gate:)
Spent some time exploring Alpha Bookstore, which I believe is where many local artists get their arts and crafts supplies from:) The store was 4 storeys, looked like a maze and I was very fascinated at their supplies selection!
Fish ice cream!
The market itself sold mostly auntie-style clothing, bed lining, exotic ginseng, stationaries and chrstmas supplies:)
I was more interested in the food section! As it was christmas, there were many delicious looking pastries around! It was such an inviting sight:) Reasons why I love this festive season:)
Spotted busan hotteok! A franchise of the one we at at the beginning of this trip:) There were also many familiar express food outlets, such as Dean and Deluca, Crystal Jade and many kimbap and sushi bars:)
After my short solo adventure, I headed to Hapjeong to join some of my friends at a cafe! Hapjeong is famous for its cafe street (Exit 3), and I quite like the atmosphere there because its not as crowded as other cafe streets such as Samcheongdong:) That day's cafe was Cafe the Bridge! It is a branch of the one I went in Hongdae:)
This one had more mini-themes and was more spacious than the first one we went:) However, their wifi was very weak and the lighting was very bad too.. I felt that their drinks were overpriced as well. What that was selling well was their concept of having private cubicles.
For dinner, we went into the heart of Hongdae to have Western! The food was surprisingly good and very cheap!! A hidden gem:)
