Gyeongju Day 3: Bomun Lake/ Cheomseongdae Observatory/ National Museum/ Anapji Pond

Day two started with travelling to Bomun Lake Resort area in our quest to look for Bomun Pavilion. As it was the pubic holidays, we saw many families with young kids around.

Spot the headless swan!

Stone path that leads to nowhere..mysterious! Able to see Gyeonju World amusement park from there and here the roller coasters, what a contrast to the serenity of this place:)

After lunch, we passed by this really really pretty field of rapeseed flowers. Bathed in a sea of orange and pink, the fascinated us snapped many photos! As it's my first time seeing something like this, plus I really love floral, it was definitely an awesome memory:)

There were trucks of ice cream vendors along the roadside. Best weather for a green tea ice cream--which melted in seconds!

Cheomseongdae Observatory is known to be the oldest astronomical observatory in Asia.

More flowers!

About 10 mins walk away, we arrived at Gyeonju National Museum. It was free admission! Spotted many kids playing traditional Korean games:) Like the ones I see in drama! The main exhibits revolved around the Shila period, the rise and fall etc.

Just about sunset, we headed to Anapji Pond, which was  about 5mins walk back. We were just in time for the light ups! If you are visiting Gyeongju, this is definitely a must-go destination:)

As it was Chuseok, or what we Chinese call the Mid Autumn Festival, the moon was so round and bright! Could not capture its magnificence well with my camera. You'll see many people streaming in after sunset.
